The role is critical to the siting efforts of the entire development portfolio. Accelergen is looking for a director to provide strategic input and develop our proprietary, in-house modeling and study efforts. The Director will provide recommendations directly to the executive team and will have considerable influence on all decisions made on assets in the portfolio.

Core Competencies and Qualifications

  • Experience working with TARA, PSSE and/or PSLF to perform regional screening studies, injection studies and replication of Independent System Operators (“ISOs”)/Transmission Owners (“TOs”) generator deliverability study results, and other power flow analysis to identify optimal interconnection locations in target regions
  • Ability to program and conduct automated power flow base case models, analysis, and post-processing of results using Python, or other scripting languages.
  • Knowledge of open access transmission tariffs with emphasis on generator interconnection procedures, generator study methodologies, and transmission planning processes in one or more of SPP, MISO and various WECC Balancing Authority areas (APS, PacifiCorp, Xcel PSCO, PNM, Nevada Power, SRP, Tri-State, WAPA, BPA, Northwestern, Idaho Power).
  • Experience submitting interconnection requests and navigating the interconnection process to successful execution of Generator Interconnection Agreements for utility scale renewable energy projects.
  • Ability to manage consultants and 3rd party providers to conduct power flow studies, prepare interconnection requests and generator equivalent models necessary for interconnection study process.
  • Ability to estimate interconnection facility and network upgrade costs.
  • Proven history of interacting with and establishing relationships with ISOs and TOs.
